Telangana and AP irrigation officials clash over water release from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam
- Telangana irrigation officials complained to the Krishna River Management Board KRMB over Andhra Pradesh releasing water into the Nagarjunasagar Project’s right canal.
- AP officials released 500 cusecs of water around 5 pm on July 23, according to Telangana officials.
- Telangana said the release happened without prior KRMB approval, which is required under the interstate water-sharing agreement.
- AP officials, however, said they were drawing water from their allocated share, while the two states have had ongoing disputes over Nagarjunasagar water releases.
