Centre blocks Revanth Reddy's US trip, says "clearance from political angle is denied"
- Telangana asked for permission for both a UK and a US trip, to sign agreements with universities and bring foreign institutions to the state. Only the UK part was approved.
- The Centre informed the state only after the official group had already landed in London. Revanth Reddy now returns to Hyderabad on August 23, instead of flying to Boston.
- Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge was refused the same clearance in June 2025.
- Every Chief Minister must get political clearance from the Centre before any official foreign trip.
