Centre notifies ₹62,500 crore mobile phone manufacturing plan
- The Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme has a ₹62,500 crore budget and will run for five years from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
- It offers 2.25% to 5% incentives on eligible phone sales, with extra support for Indian design and R&D.
- The government expects the scheme to support ₹39 lakh crore in production and create about 60,000 direct jobs.
