Idli replaces vada pav in Mumbai schools
- Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe banned junk food inside schools and within 50 metres of school gates.
- Vada pav, samosas, chips and soft drinks are out. Idli, poha, upma, sprouts, fruit and chaas are in.
- The rule covers selling, displaying and advertising such food near schools. It follows his crackdown on hotels and clubs, where five Mumbai clubs lost their food licences.
