India's stock market investor base has grown five times since 2019 — and it is just getting started
- India's registered stock market investors jumped from 2.7 crore in FY19 to 13.37 crore in July 2026 — a nearly fivefold increase in seven years.
- The last one crore investors joined in just six months — it took 14 years to reach the first one crore when NSE launched.
- The average investor is now 33 years old — investors under 30 make up 38% of the base and 59% of all new registrations in FY27.
