Navy, Air Force to get new radars and jammers as defence council clears ₹1.10 lakh crore proposals
- The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Rajnath Singh, has approved proposals worth about Rs 1.10 lakh crore.
- The Army gets self-propelled mine layers, trawl tanks that clear mines, and advanced light helicopters.
- The Navy gets radars for its air stations and an Indian-made propulsion system for warships, cutting import reliance.
- The Air Force gets a ground-based jammer to blind enemy radars, and 98 per cent of it all comes from Indian industry.
