Google plans to end Pixel production in China by 2027
- A Nikkei Asia report on August 18 said Google plans to stop making Pixel devices in China and complete the shift by 2027.
- The move covers Pixel smartphones, smartwatches and wireless earbuds, with more production expected to shift to Vietnam and India.
- Google already began developing and producing high-end Pixel phones in Vietnam in 2026, giving it confidence to move more manufacturing there.
- The reported shift is aimed at reducing Google’s dependence on China amid continuing US-China tensions and building a more diverse supply chain.
